Around 45 Ministry of Education & Higher Education teacher trainers from the West Bank will take part in a 30 hour course from 14 to 18 August.
This is in preparation for training with teachers of grades 7 to 11 using module three of the CiSELT course, which focuses on how to teach the communicative skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing English, and integrating these skills).
The training course will take place in weekly sessions this Autumn school semester, so that teachers can reflect on their own classes, and try out or adapt what they learn with their own students, then share the experience with their colleagues on the course.
It follows the successful 2015 programme with 400 Ministry of Education & HE teachers which involved pronunciation, how to approach errors and mistakes, how to teach vocabulary and grammar, and understanding how learners learn language. The same teachers will participate in this second part of the course.
